Golden-hour welcome, keys to the house, a long table dinner and absolutely no agenda.

Slow mornings, water, sun and movement. Small founder circles in the afternoon; sunset with the investors after.

Curated adventures, a pampering track for partners, and the Recess dinner — the night everyone remembers.

Brunch, reflections and a soft landing. You head home lighter, clearer and closer to the people who matter.

Startups are a family sport. Each company can bring up to four seats, so spouses and partners are part of the weekend — with their own pampering track of spa time, beach mornings and good wine, plus every shared dinner and sunset.

Who is Recess for?
Founders and co-founders of seed to early Series A companies, plus their spouses or partners. Each retreat hosts around ten companies so the room stays intimate.
What does it cost?
Recess is sponsored by venture funds, accelerators and brand partners, so accepted founders don’t pay to attend. Travel details are shared with each cohort.
How do I get in?
Apply below. We review applications on a rolling basis and curate each cohort for chemistry, stage and a good mix of industries.
Where do retreats happen?
Gorgeous places, chosen for quiet and beauty: beach houses, private villas and elevated campgrounds. Our pilot is on Pensacola Beach, Florida, with new locations each quarter.
Is this a pitch event?
No. Investors attend as guests and hosts, not judges. There are no demo days, no decks and no stage — just time and space.
